Free UAE Tourist SIM

The United Arab Emirates' are well known for their lavish hotels, luxury shopping & status as a playground for the world's ultra wealthy.

Unsurprisingly, the UAE also has some of the most expensive cellular data rates in the world. 

There are two mobile carriers in the UAE, and each have a Tourist SIM Card available for international visitors.

Du UAE Prepaid Tourist SIM is available free of charge upon arrival at immigration. Unfortunately it only includes a miniscule 20MB of data, and is only valid for 3 days. The minimum recharge for Du Prepaid Tourist SIM is AED 55 (~USD $15) which gets you 500MB of data valid 7 days.

Etisalat UAE Visitor Line SIM includes 1GB of data valid for 30 days for AED 105 (~USD $28.50).

Each can be purchased from their respective Du or Etisalat shops in the arrivals hall of Dubai International Airport or Abu Dhabi International Airport. Once you have cleared immigration, you must register your passport details to obtain a SIM Card. Prepaid credit can be added by visiting one of the carrier's shops throughout the Emirates.
